ABA undertook a study for a large Agriculture Inputs Company to understand the smallholder farmers buying decision making process. The survey was conducted in India, Turkey, and Vietnam. ABA organized a two-day workshop with the company leadership to re-align their strategy and communication based on the output of the study
World Wildlife Fund Africa | Zimbabwe, Zambia, Cameroon, and Tanzania
Using a participatory approach and value chain framework, ABA worked to develop a Food Loss Reduction strategy and project concepts with operational work plans for WWF in Central, East, and Southern Africa. WWF’s priority landscapes for the project were the KAZA region with a focus on horticulture in Zimbabwe and Zambia, TRIDOM with a focus on palm oil in Cameroon, and SOKNOT with a focus on horticulture in Tanzania. ABA developed strategies and project concepts to highlight the opportunities, needs, and challenges for reducing postharvest losses, and identified the most impactful solutions with a clear indication of WWF’s contribution, building upon projects already being conducted in Africa
Proctor & Gamble
ABA partnered with Ohio State University to evaluate the Psyllium Husk value chain for Proctor & Gamble. The objective was to strengthen the supply chain for procurement of raw material for OTC Metamucil. ABA evaluated the value chain, focusing on understanding the backward linkages for increasing production through strengthening research and extension.
USAID Kisan | India and Nepal
ABA undertook a trade competitive study across India and Nepal for Winrock for developing a business case for interventions on strengthening private sector linkages. This project was undertaken by ABA with the objective of understanding the competitiveness of growing fine varieties of rice, corn, and wheat, while understanding the cost of production, subsidies and processing infrastructure across Nepal and the bordering states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, in India.
Feed the future Innovation lab for Horticulture | Cambodia
ABA worked to strengthen the commercialization of Conservation Agriculture project in Cambodia. ABA worked to establish a marketing and sales plan for promotion and maximization of profits for women farmers by promoting concepts of Food Safety which led to a 30% premium price.
ABA was contracted by a global leader for a market assessment and for creating a Go to Market strategy for biological solutions in developing world markets. ABA developed a report highlighting the market opportunity and the strategic market entry along with recommendations for possible commercial partnerships.
